Government
The Litaker Group has extensive experience working with government agencies. During the past several years, we have worked on several projects, including those that have drawn
positive media attention in Texas. Some of our government experience includes working with the Texas Department of State Health Services to:
- Evaluate the current state of bioterrorism preparedness for Texas hospitals as measured against National Hospital Bioterrorism Preparedness Program benchmarks and to provide recommendations on future activities within the program;
- Evaluate the Texas health and medical response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and to develop an improvement plan to implement changes and recommendations detailed in the After Action Report;
- Develop a comprehensive five-year strategic vision for health and medical disaster preparedness for Texas and review and recommendations of current health and medical preparedness capabilities.
- Provide facilitation services and technical expertise in developing work groups and focus groups;
- Provide statistical research and evaluation services to assess specific operational and response components to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita for the Texas Department of State Health Service;
- Conduct statistical analysis of an internal departmental survey;
- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the Centers for Disease Control and U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration cooperative agreements undertaken by the agency during the response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita; and
- Provide facilitation services at the 2006 Texas Pandemic Influenza conference sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Our sister company, the Contingency Management Consulting Group, has worked with numerous local governments around the nation to provide training, exercises, and advice on meeting future disaster needs related to all-hazards planning, pandemic influenza, and ongoing disaster preparedness.
