The Litaker Group Conducts Comprehensive Chart Audit Assessing Hepatitis B Immunization Practices in Texas
The Litaker Group was selected in a competitive procurement to conduct a comprehensive assessment of policies and practices related to universal birth dose coverage of hepatitis B for newborns in Texas. This project, consisting of an initial survey of 119 hospitals on their policies and practices, followed by a review of over 25,000 medical records, will be the most comprehensive public health evaluation project of its kind in the United States.
This project will be used by both the Texas Department of State Health Services and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to identify opportunities to improve immunization against hepatitis B.
